Job Description

The Financial Aid Processing Specialist is responsible for daily electronic processes, such as importing federal data files, mass assignment of information requests, and financial aid packaging.

Additionally, the specialist will receive and track documents submitted to the financial aid office and communicate with students about missing or incomplete submissions.

The specialist will complete verification (a process by which FAFSA data is compared to tax and demographic data) and make FAFSA corrections where necessary.

Position will work directly with students who need assistance with the completion of documents. Additionally, the specialist may be assigned to assist with general student inquiries and other office functions to include (but not limited to) assisting with loan, scholarship, and work-study processing, document scanning, and review of enrollment changes.

Minimum Qualifications

Successful applicant will be comfortable learning and using new technologies, have strong customer service skills, and excel at both written and verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but consideration will be given to applicants with significant experience in either financial aid, student services, or tax preparation, or who have a relevant associate degree and/or a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment where both customer service and technology usage were expected.
