The Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH) works to reduce the communication barriers between persons who are deaf or hard of hearing and those who are hearing, including family members, service providers, and the general public.
A Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, public administration, deaf studies, rehabilitation, human services or a related field; and extensive professional experience. Professional experience must be in the area of planning, administering, developing, or delivering programs for deaf, hard of hearing and/or deaf-blind individuals. Additional professional experience may substitute, year for year, the required education. American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) certification at Level 2+ is required for entry into position.
Demonstrated experience in administrative and clerical procedures, managing files, record retention.
