Job Description

Germanna Community College is accepting applications for the position of GED® Testing Supervisor. This position will coordinate and administer Pearson VUE’s GED® test administration for the region consisting of the five localities in Planning District 16. The GED® Testing Supervisor will serve as a resource and a liaison between Germanna and the five participating school divisions as well as Regional Adult Education for GED® testing and interested residents of the region. This position will oversee day-to-day operation of Pearson VUE test administration and manage the budget for High Tech testing. The position will schedule designated GED® test dates and other exam administration through Pearson VUE’s Site Manager calendar. In addition, GED® Testing Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the scheduling of certified High Tech proctors for Pearson VUE test administration. This position is required to work flexible hours including some evenings and at least two Saturdays per month as well as travel to other campuses and school districts. This is a restricted position based on annual funding from July 1 to June 30. Current funding ends on June 30, 2017.
Salary: $32,619 – $40,800; DOE plus state benefits. (State policy pay practices apply for current employees.)

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of supervisory experience including staff supervision
• At least two years of experience working with a diverse population
• Experience scheduling, managing a budget, and coordinating test administration
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service and organization skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware and software applications
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows Operating Systems
• Experience working in an electronic office environment
• Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and at least two weekends per month
• Ability to travel to other campuses and school divisions
• Pearson VUE Administration certification within 30 days of hire
• An Associate’s Degree is recommended.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Three years of experience managing and administering GED® or standardized tests and working with the Adult Education population
• At least three years of supervisory experience in a community college or public school system
• Pearson VUE Administration certification
• MS Office Certification
