Job Description

Paul D. Camp Community College’s Division of Workforce Development is seeking an Adjunct instructor to teach Motorcycle Safety. The role requires the instructor to teach an average of eight (8) three-day classes/sessions per year (Classroom is Fridays 5:45-9pm; Range is Saturdays 7:45am-5pm and Sundays 7:45am-3pm), March through October with 2-hours per session extra allotted for class preparation/coordination. Class size for the Beginning Rider Course (BRC) is a maximum of 12 students, with no more than six students per instructor. Instructors must have good communication skills and be able to explain techniques and concepts to beginners.

Paul D. Camp Community College is accepting applications for part-time, Motorcycle adjunct faculty positions on a continuous basis.

Responsibilities include teaching the basic rider safety course using MSF curriculum for licensing students to ride 2-wheel motorcycles for classes. Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess expert skills, knowledge, experience and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience. Adjunct Faculty positions require excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds. Must be a certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation RiderCoach in Virginia. A background investigation will be conducted on the final candidate.
