Job Description

Directs a comprehensive food service program for a major institution. Supervises staff and offenders in food preparation and serving to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and security regulations. Responsible for ordering and receiving food products, equipment and other supplies as needed while maintaining an accurate inventory system. Submits budget proposals and is responsible for authorized expenditures of allotted funds.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. ServSafe Certification. Supervisory experience in a large volume food environment. Working knowledge of food service management, sanitation practices and procedures. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Skilled in the operation of food service equipment. Demonstrated ability to prepare nutritional meals. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels to include management, staff and offenders.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer Certified Dietary Manager Certification. Associates degree in Food Science or related field. Working knowledge of DOC food service policies and procedures. Food service experience working in a correctional, educational, hospital or similar institutional environment.
