Job Description

Part-time adjunct teaching faculty-ranked appointment. Positions are needed to teach respiratory courses on Mondays from 1:00PM-3:40PM for both Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters. Salary commensurate with education and experience of applicant.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants are required to hold an AAS or AS in Respiratory Therapy and be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the Virginia Board of Medicine and two (2) years of experience in a clinical setting. Selected candidate must be able to successfully pass the college’s pre-employment security screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related teaching field. Educational background in science is preferred, to include, but is not limited to, the areas of anatomy and physiology, chemistry and physics. Incumbent needs to be proficient in the assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary disease as well as pathophysiology and neuromuscular physiology. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Word and PowerPoint applications. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students.
