Job Description

Contributes to the agency’s mission to provide the most efficient and modern processing operation possible while maintaining offender custody and public safety at State Farm Agribusiness Operations.

This position manages milk production and distribution of milk products in a commercial Grade A milk processing plant that includes processing, pasteurizing, packaging, and distribution all fluid products for institutional use to include Grade A milk, milk beverages, juices and other fluid products for offender consumption. Supervise and manage pasteurization operations utilizing modern techniques & technology to provide quality milk products within mandated State & Federal regulations.

Supervises plant production, maintain processing equipment as needed, distribution of all fluid products produced at the plant, and communicate effectively with all staff including agribusiness, security, visitors and vendors. Ensures prompt and accurate delivery of milk and other fluid products while maintaining inmate custody and public safety.

This is a full-time restricted position. Restricted positions are classified positions with at least 10% of its funding from non-continuous or non-recurring funding sources, such as grants, donations, contracts, capital outlay projects or higher education auxiliary enterprise revenues.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver’s License. Considerable knowledge of Commercial Grade A dairy, pasteurization of milk, beverage products, and other fluid product production. Working knowledge of and skilled in the application of HTST (High Temperature, Short Time) pasteurization & HAACP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) procedures & technology. Ability to follow direction & supervise others. Skilled in teamwork. Ability to work within limited timeframes.

Preferred Qualifications

Milk pasteurization experience may substitute formal education. State Health Certificate a plus. Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) helpful. Skill in the use of computers and software such as Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel.

Special Requirements

Class “A” CDL license, certified tanker endorsement and milk handler’s permit required with in 6 months of employment
