Job Description

Germanna Community College is accepting applications for a part-time (29 hours per week) Pearson VUE Testing Services proctor. This position provides essential services to test candidates using the Pearson VUE Testing Center. The proctor is responsible for administering and proctoring computer-based tests while following established procedures and guidelines. This position provides top-notch customer service, answers the telephone, and replies to emails. The proctor assists with the daily operations of a high-volume testing office. Some duties of the proctor include: securely administering and proctoring Pearson VUE as well as other exams; implementing procedures and applying policies and regulations in High Tech Testing Services; ensuring the integrity and security of all exams; provide consistent information on testing policies and procedures to test candidates and prospective candidates; maintaining a secure and quiet environment for testing; and performing other duties as assigned. This position will be based at the Fredericksburg Area Campus, but the proctor is required to provide coverage as needed at other locations. Flexible work hours are required, including the ability to work mornings, evenings, holidays and at least two Saturdays per month at any campus or off-site location when testing is scheduled.

Salary: $14.00 per hour. (State benefits do not apply).

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or an equivalent.
• Two years of frontline customer service experience in a high volume environment.
• Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook); proficient
knowledge of computer technology and Windows Operating Systems.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Ability to learn applications quickly.
• Ability to work flexible hours are required including some holidays, mornings, evenings at
least two Saturdays per month at any campus location.
• Must obtain Pearson VUE Certification within 30 days of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least one year of experience administering and proctoring assessment tests and college level
exams.
• At least one year of experience working in a post-secondary educational environment, preferably
in testing or student services.
• Pearson VUE Certification.
