Job Description

Registered Nurse for Generalist position in Public Health, with focus on community and staff education district wide; communicable disease prevention; immunizations, school health; and WIC nutrition services. Principles of Public Health including epidemiology, community assessments, family and community dynamics, case management, physical assessment, interviewing, counseling and teaching techniques. Knowledge: Basic knowledge of emergency and disaster preparedness a plus. Skills: basic computer skills. Abilities: Problem-solving, organization/priority setting, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, flexibility and able to function with high degree of independence. Must be a registered nurse in Virginia. Public Health Nursing or experience in a community health focused position is preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred. 32 hour a week position with flexed hours covering 5 days a week.

Minimum Qualifications

Registered Nurse, licensed in Virginia. Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to make independent nursing judgments and decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

BSN Desired, Public Health experience desired
