Job Description

The Virginia Department of Education, Office of Education Information Management and Technology Innovations is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to support, lead, manage, and enhance the use of collaborative technologies for the collection, and dissemination of information and for the implementation of associated deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of SharePoint administration and development, preferably using SharePoint online instance, for the purpose of enhancing communication and collaboration.

Ability to assess potential needs, gather requirements, and implement or oversee the implementation of associated collaborative solutions.

Experience in policy development, establishment of best practices, and end-user training and support.

Ability to perform SharePoint administrative task to include site configuration, oversight, and user/permission management.

Demonstrate the ability to define problems and apply problem solving techniques to complex issues.

Demonstrate a history of leadership and the ability to participate on interdisciplinary teams to coordinate the completion of projects.

Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal and digital formats; to present complex information to both technical and lay audiences; to manage multiple assignments with critical deadlines; and to coordinate, critique, and edit work products.

Graduation from an accredited college or university or an equivalent of education and experience is required.

Experience implementing SharePoint in a large, complex organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience integrating SharePoint and associated data with other applications is preferred.

Certification with a collaboration platform, especially SharePoint is preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Security certification(s) is preferred.

Special Requirements

Successful candidate must pass a criminal background check.
