GENEDGE Alliance is seeking a talented, self-motivated professional to join our statewide network of industrial consultants. This position will be based in Hampton Roads, VA. The current workload is within the Hampton Roads region supporting Go Virginia region 5 cluster development. However, GENEDGE consultants are deployed across the state and travel significantly to meet client needs as required.

1. The successful applicant will build and maintain relationships in the Hampton Roads region with local and regional economic developers, industrial associations, the Port of Virginia and the local industrial and technology client base. They will develop trusted advisor relationships with prospects and clients in support of assisting them in pursuit of strategic goals. Growth consultants define appropriate scopes of work, identify resource needs and subsequently provide contracted services directly or through the assistance of subject matter experts. Growth services consultants manage projects to a successful completion creating positive impact for the client and the Commonwealth. This position reports to the Vice President, Operations.

Salary Range: Minimum $72,000 based upon qualifications and experience. A very comprehensive benefits package is also included.

Minimum Qualifications

A BS degree in a business discipline or engineering is required. The qualified candidate will have progressively responsible experience in a business environment. They will have a working knowledge of a variety of key business processes such as product development, financial analysis/cost accounting, industrial marketing/sales, exporting, logistics/purchasing, quality systems, operations, and continuous improvement methods such as lean six sigma.

The position requires efficient and effective project management, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, along with highly effective verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Candidate will have demonstrated successful consulting or customer facing capabilities. Success with small team leadership as well as with strategic engagements at the leadership level [business owner, President] is expected.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master’s degree or equivalent is desirable. Success in consultative industry economic development with existing businesses is an advantage. Also, expertise and experience in the following areas would be a significant advantage:
• Innovation, commercialization and growth
• Strategic planning
• Risk management
• Market Analysis
• Business development
• Organizational development
• Manufacturing or technology operations management
