Job Description

Danville Community College seeks an energetic nursing instructor for a full-time permanent position. Teaching assignments will involve first and second year nursing didactic and clinical courses. Academic advising and committee responsibilities are assigned to this position. The successful candidate should expect to be an active participant in expanding nursing education and assisting in developing allied health programming at the college.

A Master’s degree in nursing (or intent to acquire a master’s degree within two (2) years) and current unencumbered RN licensure in the Commonwealth of VA is required. Graduate level education in other disciplines is desirable. A record of a prior successful teaching, preferably in a community college setting, is required as well as acute care clinical experience within the last five years.

Other qualifications include evidence of excellence in teaching; ability to lift 50 lbs.; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; evidence of successful work experience as a team member; ability to work effectively with culturally diverse student populations; committed to quality instruction, scholarship, and academic integrity; excellent clinical skills; interest and/or experience in engaging students in campus life outside the classroom; web-based/on-line instructional experience desired.
