Job Description

(Part Time position/no benefits)

24 hours per week. Must be able to work rotating shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm -11pm or 11pm-7am).

Southeastern Virginia Training Center is seeking a part-time candidate who will patrol premises to provide safety and security for patients, staff and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
This position will be required to monitor State property and provide information and directions as needed.

• Will patrol site or building access, monitor staff, visitors, and the public to ensure compliance with security and safety procedures.
• Additionally, this position will serve as a backup to receptionists, establishing and maintaining office files as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must have valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to successfully complete CPR, First Aid, and physical/behavior management training.
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports utilizing the computer.
• Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to react appropriately in routine and emergency situations.
• Ability to use equipment required in the conduct of duty.
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

- A valid private Security Services Certification issued by the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is preferred but not required.
- Security experience required.

This is a part-time position. Must be able to work ROTATING SHIFTS; NO EXCEPTIONS.
