Job Description

Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center provides people with disabilities comprehensive, individualized services to realize optimal personal independence and employment. Incumbent will perform work in support of the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services and WWRC facilities and programs by supervising Grounds keeping staff at WWRC in the areas of grounds care and maintenance as well as office equipment and furniture moving duties, prioritizing work to be performed based on seasonal needs and work orders from Center staff. Oversee maintenance of all Grounds keeping equipment. Coordinate office moves on campus. Act as coordinator of surplus furnishings and property at WWRC, responsible for storage, deployment, and inventory of surplus assets. Perform light maintenance and construction tasks when appropriate or as directed utilizing grounds staff. To maintain all parking lots including periodic re-stripping of paint lines.
To meet the expectations of the job, the incumbent must have access to personally identifiable and confidential information about agency consumers and/or agency staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Considerable experience in all aspects of grounds care and maintenance to include supervision , mowing, hand and power tool operation; pruning, planting, mulching. Best practices in Horticulture; use of related hand and power tools; snow removal equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications

Some experience with hardscapes
Experience with tractors, forklifts, and mowers. Knowledge of and some experience in other trades: welding and mechanical skills with small engine repair and housekeeping. Pesticide Licenses 3A, 3B and 7A certification preferred.Current forklift certification preferred. Commercial Driver’s license preferred (class B with air brakes)..

This has been designated a sensitive position under Va. Code § 2.2-1201.1.
