Job Description

The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR) was opened in 2003. Operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), it provides a secure environment for the treatment of adults deemed to be sexually violent predators.

The Food Service Department strives to efficiently and effectively provide food that meets the nutritional needs of the residents. The department also seeks to provide high customer satisfaction will enjoyable meals and snacks that are on time and the correct temperature.

This position will act as a lead worker assisting managers and is responsible for supervising multiple sections of a comprehensive food service system in areas of hot and cold food production, sanitation, tray line assembly, tray transportation and food storage. This individual may share opening and closing operations management to closely supervise dietary cost control, food security, food quality, quality of service delivery, safety, and sanitation in a 7-day a week, 16-hour a day operation. This position will assist management with customer satisfaction and take an active role in both the identification and correction of departmental improvement plans. This position will provide coverage for kitchen operations and support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Experience in a food service setting with experience as a Food Service Supervisor.

Valid Virginia Driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Safe-Serve certification.

Experience in a forensic mental health or comparable setting.

Experience working with sex offenders.

Special Requirements

Satisfactory results of a state and federal criminal history background check, Department of Social Service’s Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check, U.S. HHS OIG Exclusion List check, employment reference check, E-Verify and satisfactory results from your required pre-employment drug test.
